MES
Manufacturing execution system. Runs electronic batch records and shop-floor execution between ERP and the equipment.
The MES sits between planning (ERP) and machinery (automation layer), executing the batch: dispensing checks, step-by-step instructions, in-process controls, exceptions and the electronic batch record that replaces the paper ticket.
Review by exception is the headline benefit: instead of QA reading every line of every batch record, the system flags deviations and reviewers concentrate there. Earning that benefit requires validating the rules that decide what counts as an exception, which is where the real CSV work lives.
